Tim Gould,

Vice President, Compliance

Tim Gould is the vice president of compliance for Spartan 5S Solutions. As a military veteran and former law enforcement officer, Tim also has a broad background in operations leadership, with domestic and international experience across safety, compliance, and administration for key players and startup organizations within the logistics industry.

In just a few short months since beginning with the Spartan organization, Tim has already established a partnership with a local placement school and placed several drivers for the affiliated Spartan 6S Solutions business. He is the “go-to” for setting up all DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration compliance programs, ensuring drivers, clients, and the Spartan conglomerate is fully compliant with state and regulatory requirements. Additionally, he has built innovative driver training programs and educational initiatives – ensuring that the supply chain is stocked with drivers to support it at the most critical time in recent history.

Before joining Spartan, Tim worked in safety and compliance leadership roles for both Fortune 500 and startup organizations within the logistics industry, including US Xpress, Ryder Integrated Logistics, Arnold Transportation, Dunavant, Empire Truck Lines, and Alliance Shippers Inc. For each of these companies, he served as a regional safety point of contact, and he would oversee up to 12 terminals, managing safety needs for as many than as1,500 drivers.

In each of his previous logistics roles, Tim has created best-in-class safety training programs, established clear SOPs, and built out KPI metrics and dashboards to benchmark performance. Notably, he has a reputation for designing programs that reduce accidents by as much as 50%, as well as implementing continuous process improvements (including route redesign) that save logistics companies up to $52M in shipping costs each year.

Tim’s commitment to continuous improvement extends far beyond the workplace. Truly dedicated to furthering his education whenever possible, Tim holds a B.A., an M.A, an M.B.M, and a Ph.D. He is also a Smith System instructor, a certified driving instructor in space cushion driving, and he holds NATMI certifications, including certified director of safety (CDS) and certified driver trainer (CDT). His OSHAcademy certifications include certified fleet safety management, certified accident investigation, certified safety leadership, and certified HIPAA privacy.

A native of Texas, outside of work, Tim remains heavily involved in his community. He is an active member of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Texas. Additionally, he is an ordained minister and previously served as the president of the Arlington Christian Theological Seminary. He also currently volunteers as a driver for Shriners Hospital, where he transports children and their parents to the hospital during times of need.
